Semiotic Labs and Schneider Electric sign collaboration agreement

Leiden, 17 December 2019 — Semiotic Labs, a leader in predictive maintenance, and Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced a collaboration agreement.

The parties have agreed to jointly sell a combined solution of EcoStruxure Asset Advisor and SAM4, broadening Schneider’s service offering to now support the digital monitoring of rotating equipment including induction motors, pumps, conveyors and compressors.

SAM4 is a predictive maintenance solution for critical AC motors and rotating assets. Using electrical waveform analysis, SAM4 predicts upcoming failures up to months in advance, thereby giving maintenance teams the time they need to resolve potential failures before they happen. SAM4 is more accurate than traditional vibration-based predictive maintenance solutions because it analyzes electrical waveforms, and not vibration data. The natural fit with Schneider Electric’s monitoring solutions for electrical equipment helped to facilitate the agreement.

The joint offering will provide EcoStruxure Asset Advisor clients with two key benefits:

  • Robust asset reliability. SAM4’s proven fault detection accuracy and Schneider Electric’s trusted asset monitoring expertise will combine to help clients minimize unplanned downtime of critical production assets.
  • Valuable digital transformation. SAM4 utilizes advanced machine learning algorithms to provide an innovative, data-driven predictive maintenance solution that will drive improved asset management efficiency and effectiveness.

“Our collaboration with Schneider Electric signals a new phase in the growth of our company,” says Simon Jagers, Semiotic Labs’ founder. “The combination of our technology and Schneider Electric’s domain expertise and support organization provides additional value to our clients, including the capability to implement and support SAM4 on a global scale.”
